A shadow moves across you.

"Hello Arthur," says the shadow.

You look up and, squinting into the sun, are startled to see your friend Ford Prefect standing above you. You'd be even more startled if you were to suddenly realize that Ford Prefect is in fact from a small planet in the vicinity of Betelgeuse and not from Guildford as he usually claimed. But you don't realize that, so you're only mildly startled.

"Ford! Hello, how are you?"

"Fine," says Ford. "Look, are you busy?"
