Angrily, you hit him on the shoulder again.

"Ow, that hurts."

"Good, now get the hell out." you growl.

"Look, I said I'm sorry. Let me make it up to you." He leans toward you.

You cock your arm back to hit him again. He quickly rolls out of bed
and starts gathering up his close.

"OK, OK, I'm going." Winston mumbles as he starts getting dressed.

"Not in here." you snap, "Get dressed somewhere else, just get the
fuck out of my sight."

Winston, one leg already in his pants, hops out the door into the
hallway. He slams the door behind him.

You listen as he grumbles while he puts on his clothes. He stomps down
the stairs. You hear the front door slam.

You wait a minute, the house is silent. You get out of bed, you pull
your robe from the hook on the back of the door. You reach under your
bed and grab the baseball bat, just in case. You crack the door and
listen. As quietly as you can you head down the stairs.

Downstairs, it's dark and silent. You creep toward the door and peek
out the window. Winston's car is gone. Relieved, you put the
baseball bat in the umbrella stand next to the door. You walk down
the hall to the kitchen and pour yourself a double scotch. You drink
the scotch and sob quietly. That was too much like rape.

He didn't seem like such an asshole. You're lucky he wasn't more
violent. You feel a little better by the time you finish your drink,
but you're still shaking.

You hear the front door open. You startle, you can't remember if you
locked it or not.

"Ginger, is that you?" you call out.

No answer.

You hear hoof steps coming up the hall. You look around to see if
there are any weapons handy. Just as Ginger steps into the kitchen
you rush toward the knife rack next to the stove.

"You're home early..." Ginger pauses, she sees you backing up against
the counter, "You look awful, have you been crying? You OK?"

You sob in relief. It's only Ginger.
