You wedge yourself in a dim and dirty corner, hoping the intruders won't look under it. With your drink in hand, you nearly fall on your face trying to spring out of the hammock. But you recover quickly, and dash under your deck. You wedge yourself in a dim and dirty corner, hoping the intruders won't look under it. As the hammock's swing calms to something that might have been caused by the breeze, you see two legs in front of you.

"Look at this! The tenant tied a hammock to AC? And they wonder why it's broken! Sheesh!"

The maintenance man starts poking into the unit. After a few minutes, you hear the glass door slide. From up top "Hey man, no one is home."

The two work as you swelter under the dusty deck, naked, a few feet from them. Several times you get a fright, and one drops to his hands and knees, but they're paying attention to the AC, and never look your way.

After what seems like forever, one announces "We got another leaky manifold. Let's leave a note on the kitchen counter, and then hit the next house, 'kay?"

The two pick up their tools, head up the stairs, and close the door.

You listen patiently. All you can hear is the guys in the hot tub across the fence.

Then, the sound of an engine starting, and a heavy van rolling away.

You pull yourself out from under your deck, and cautiously look around. The coast is thankfully clear. You gingerly step up the deck, and to the door.

And then you notice the door is closed all the way.

You curse aloud, as you try to open it, despite that you already know it's locked.

You sit on a deck chair and poder your options.
