The Global Backyard Wrestling News awards are the awards which have been presented within the community of Global Backyard Wrestling News (GBYWN), most notiably the GBYWN Year End Awards and was created in 2006 since the iteration of the community by GBYWN owner Cam.

Originally, only one award alone was rewarded to a single federation until 2007 when the amount of awards given were increased. They were also first voted for in the forum community until a decision was made to have them exclusive to special personnel within to vote on and come to the final selection of the owner of the community.

Arguably and controversially not exactly accurate due to the high volume and consideration of nominations, GBYWN strives to select the utmost correct winners for their efforts. To date, there have been 4 End of Year awards that have taken place (more)

Featured Backyard Wrestler: August 2009

The Featured Backyard Wrestler of the Month of August is Joel "The Beast" Vega. Vega is an uprising member currently on the 2KW roster utilizing the technical style of the sport, who has been working up from a losing streak since joining the federation and has taken quite a bit of leave of absences dating back to his debut in mid-2008. At a recent 2KW Saturday show, Vega would receive his stroke of good to come in his victory over Nolan Avilla for the 2KW Junior Heavyweight Championship and continues to show his rising star status in the federation.

Featured Backyard Federation: June 2009

The Featured Backyard Federation of the Month of June is Battle Born Wrestling (BBW). Ever since BBW was iterated in December 2008, it has wasted no time in further assembling increasing amount of territories and backyard wrestling federations to its independent body of alliance, with many including from North America, Europe, and Australia as the backyard wrestling version of National Wrestling Alliance. On separate location and ocassionally on same ground, BBW continues to grow with the effort put forward by many involved and ultimately by BBW Founder, Rad Hazard showcasing more of the Midwest part of the sport.
