Warren Hardie (born July 6, 1995) is a Scottish backyard wrestler best known for his appearances in HomeGrown Extreme Wrestling from which he was been a former HGEW World Heavyweight Champion.

Before entering HGEW, Hardie worked for small unknown trampoline federations in his town of Nairn, Scotland. Hardie was well received by the owners of the federations and picked up champiosnhips everywhere he went. Hardie was working for a Nairn promotion known as EEW, when he was approached by Alex Dale to become a member of federation BAW (later to become HGEW), Hardie accepted and soon became the face of the company.

Although not well known by a large amount of the BYW world, (as HGEW seemed to keep itself away from the BYW world and more just to its fanbase), Hardie is seen as one of the top Backyard Wrestlers in Scotland, if not the best. Hardie is known for his ability to adapt to different styles, and his older-school submission style.

Backyard wrestling tenure

Nairnshire Promotions (2007 - 2008)

In April 2007, Hardie joined the wrestling world wrestling for 'Nairnshire Promotions', this was the name given to the mini-circuit of trampoline promotions who all shared together championships and roster members. Hardie competed in these promotions under his real name "Warren Hardie". Hardie won his first championship in May of 2007, where he captured the Nairnshire Intercontinental Championship, Hardie kept this championship for a consistent 3 months before losing it at his first major event in the Nairnshire circuit.

Hardie won his first major championship in November 2007 when he defeated 'Jack-Ass' to capture the Nairnshire Circuit World Championship, while competing for their 'WWEjr' federation. Hardie's first reign was short lived as he quickly lost it back to 'Jack-Ass' after one week in a knockout match. Hardie would then enter a feud with JKH, who was a big name in the Nairnshire circuit. The feud ran a course of 6 months, and culminated in a ladder match at WWEjr: Backlash 2008. Soon after ending this feud, Hardie left WWEjr to pursue a new promotion which was causing ripples in the Nairnshire circuit (where WWEjr were the big company) and decided to jump ship.

Hardie first appeared in EEW at the end of their EEW: Spring Suicide event, where he would attack Nathan More, before being taken away by security. Hardie signed an EEW contract shortly after this but the whole thing was kept quiet between the roster. During an 8 Man Invitational match, Hardie would take out one of the participants backstage and enter himself in to the match. Hardie would go on to win the match, and capture the Nairnshire Circuit World Heavyweight Championship, which was now being contested for in EEW. Hardie would go on to defend the title in several different promotions, notably against Sean Crane in a TLC match at 'EEW: Bloodfest' and would go on to lose the belt in a rematch to Sean at 'EEW & WWEjr present: Summer of Blood'. Hardie would not win the world championship again in the Nairnshire circuit as he was approached by Alex Dale and would go on to become the face of Scottish backyard wrestling.

HomeGrown Extreme Wrestling (2008)

HGEW was set up in 2008 as a way of bringing together Scottish wrestlers to one big federation. HGEW was initially a trampoline federation, and delivered regular weekly shows entitled HGEW: Implosion. At HGEW's first show , High Voltage Hardie would defeat JKH to become the first ever champion, he also went on to retain his championship against NRGY later on in the show. HVH would be HGEW Champion for a consistent 3 months before finally being defeated by the rising star that was Hardcore Hudson. Hardie would then captain his own team at HGEW: 6 Man Tag, where they would be victorius with Hardie as the sole survivor. Hardie would then re-ignite his feud with JKH in a tables match on an episode of Implosion, although the feud was short lived after JKH put Hardie through a table off the trampoline, putting the champ on the shelf for 3 weeks. Hardie would eventually lose the championship to Nile Robbins and would not regain the title for the rest of his tenure in HGEW. Hardie would continually challenge for the HGEW: Hardcore Championship and would come 3rd in the inagural Gladiators Bout match, where the winner would earn a title shot. After 5 months of non-achievement, High Voltage Hardie left HGEW claiming the company was too corrupt, it was revealed at this time via HVH's online blog that HGEW was actually now being ran by Hudson and NRGY, in later weeks, it transpired that HVH was fired from the company by NRGY due to his conspiracy. Morale dropped in HGEW as many saw HVH as not only a trainer, but as a friend and boss. In the weeks that transpired, HGEW hired new talents by the name of Adam Ace, Grant Elder, Daniel A and others on a smaller scale. HVH's blog was read religiously by the HGEW Originals, as they began to back what he was saying but kept quiet in risk of being fired. HVH who was now simply known as Warren Hardie announced on his website that he was fighting to get the HGEW name back from NRGY and Hudson. HGEW production began to fall as many wrestlers began to boycott the tapings in support for Warren and his fight. In late 2008, HGEW aired a match between Hudson and NRGY, who were the only two who showed up to the taping. The video garnered a mere 400 views before going stagnant and HGEW never uploaded another video in 2008. Hardie announced on his blog that it would soon be closing and to expect busy times ahead.

Inverness District Wrestling (Early 2009)

Vignettes began to air on a new Youtube channel. These vignettes promised the return of the original HGEW and to not expect the corporate garbage that Hudson/NRGY were providing. NRGY had responded rather negatively to the vignettes and started promising that HGEW was not dead and that Hardie had no rights whatsoever to the name. HGEW began to start airing some newer matches with a whole host of new talent, much to the dismay of Hardie, or at least that's what people thought. Out of nowhere, a new promotion aired on the channel that aired HGEW vignettes, but the show was name Inverness District Wrestling (IDW). NRGY pushed and pushed for more people to come to their shows, but found that people were all moving over to IDW. IDW aired it's first proper show on it's "Fusion Tour" of Nairn. The tour lasted 1 month but only the first episode received internet coverage. Hardie would be under the ring name of "Ash Sydal" for this tenure and would win the IDW Championship by the end of the tour. HGEW had officially closed in April 2009, having done it's job, IDW soon followed.

Homegrown Extreme Wrestling (2009-2010)

Hardie began to wrestle on the Nairnshire Circuit one last time before managing to win the rights to the HGEW from NRGY. Having acquired all needed name rights, Hardie re-opened HGEW under a new company known as Feature Shock Entertainment. Hardie would compete at HGEW's first ever Free-Per-View entitled 'HGEW: Trepidation' where he would be lose to JKH in a contest to determine the new HGEW World Heavyweight Champion. Hardie would then appear on the next Implosion, but was not seen again until the 2010 reincarnation of HGEW where he was under the name of Zack Galloway. After HGEW packed in once again, Hardie left the company and was not seen again on internet BYW.
