The physical championship belt was homemade by [[Atticus Floyd]], originally used as the [[nWd Tag Team Championship]] and was to be the Pro Federation, ACWA's version of the [[Smashmouth Championship]]. The physical belt returned to active service when AWGP re-activated. In 2011, the physical belt will be the ACW version of the 'Smashmouth Championship'.

On May 30, 2010, [[Keiran Shaw]] won the vacant AWGP International Championship and thus, the GBYWN Australian Title was unified with the belt to create the AWGP-GBYWN Global Championship. It was mistakenly believed that the title became inactive by less knowledgeable federations, but after a brief period of confusion where ICWS claimed the lineage of the championship, Rad Hazard declared the AWGP version of the title the official version until their was an agreement to move to title or AWGP went under. AWGP and ICWS continued to confront one another over the internet until the owners themselves agreed on a spilt title, AWGP's being represented as the East Coast Version and the ICWS's as the West Coast version of the championship with a new lineage. AWGP Management made it quite clear that the original version of the title was still active as the AWGP Global Championship was still represented by both belts and is recognized as such to this day.

In late-October 2010, then AWGP Global / GBYWN Australian Champion [[Warren Terra]] split the championship back to its original configuration. The original lineage continued with [[Infringment]] becoming the first separated champion. AWGP held the championship until it was officially vacated at their finale, whereas afterwords the title was reactivated at ICWS an events later that month. The current official champion is Dan Zeplin, whom won the vacated title to unify it with the ICWS & SPWS Heavyweight Championships.
